Our response to the Obama Administration’s betrayal of Israel

Our response to the Obama Administration’s betrayal of Israel

Dear friend,

We promised you that Christians United for Israel would hit the ground running in 2017.  So far, we're keeping our word.

As you know, in late December the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution singling out Israel for condemnation and declaring that much of Jerusalem is occupied Palestinian land.  The resolution passed because the United States abstained and refused to veto this one-sided measure.

It was for times such as this that CUFI was created.  We leapt into action.

As soon as the resolution passed, we issued e-mail acton alerts calling upon you and all of our members to e-mail their members of Congress and demand that they support House and Senate resolutions condemning this UN resolution.  CUFI members ended up sending over 16,000 thousand e-mails to the House and over 44,000 thousand e-mails to the Senate.

Given the stakes, however, we decided that this e-mail avalanche wasn't enough -- we needed to deliver our message in person.  We decided to fly our leadership from across the country to Washington for an emergency summit. With a little over a week's notice, over 250 of our leaders from 49 states came to DC to join us in a day of prayer and action on Capitol Hill.  Our message was clear -- condemn the UN resolution, demand that the Obama Administration do no further damage to Israel in its waning days, and move our embassy to Jerusalem.

President-elect Trump has vowed to be a friend to Israel.  We need to play an active role in ensuring that he keeps his promises.  Even leaders with the best of intentions need to be reminded that we are watching and that we will speak out forcefully if we believe that our leaders are doing harm to our front line ally, Israel.

Now is not a time to relax or fade away.  Now is the time to build on our momentum, press our advantage and secure Israel's future. If you are able to help us fill our war chest for the battles we must fight in 2017, your generosity will be greatly appreciated.  With your help, we will have much good news to report in the coming months and years.

Thank you for standing with us as we embark on the next phase of our important work.

Blessings to you and those you love,

Pastor John Hagee,
Nation Chairman

David Brog,
Director

The Israel Pledge

We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.
