President Trump has nominated David Friedman to serve as the next US ambassador to the Jewish State. Friedman has had a distinguished career, is extremely well respected, and has had a lifelong commitment to Israel. Yet certain groups are opposing Friedman's nomination because they believe his views on Israel are too conservative.
This is where we can make a difference. Last week we ran the following full-page ad in three major Washington newspapers - The Hill, Roll Call, and The Washington Post:
We also launched an action alert in support of Friedman's nomination. Our members responded by bombarding their Senators with over 28,000 emails asking them to vote in favor of Friedman.
The ads and action alert come on the heels of the CUFI Action Fund emergency summit in mid-January. Shortly after the UN passed a terribly anti-Israel resolution, we flew more than 260 Christian leaders representing 49 states to D.C. to lobby their senators to oppose the UN measure and to support the Friedman nomination.
We're working hard to ensure that the Trump Administration stands by its promises to stand with Israel. And we're working to ensure that Congress does not get in their way when they do. We could not do either of these important tasks without your commitment to stand with us.
We also need you to do everything possible to attend the annual Washington DC Summit in July, and bring as many people with you as you can. Now is not a time to fade away. Now is the time to work with new allies to do important things for Israel.
Thank you for working with us to ensure that this new administration will do the right thing, and that Congress will not interfere when it does.
Blessings to you and those you love,
Pastor John Hagee,
