CUFI in Action

Dear friend,

In a world sadly lacking in moral leadership, CUFI has taken a bold stand. We've never watered down our message or compromised our principles. And we've sometimes paid a price for this.  When you criticize the president, you 're not always welcome in the White House.

But it's a new day in Washington, and a new opportunity for CUFI.  At the beginning of April, we met with President Trump and Vice President Pence at the White House. In that meeting, we were humbled and gratified to hear that our nation’s two top leaders are firmly committed to working with us to secure the future of Israel and America.

Just since the beginning of the year, we’ve seen success on a number of fronts. As The Washington Times recently noted:

[CUFI] flexed its developing muscle even before Donald Trump took the oath of office. Upon returning from Christmas break, the word around Washington was that President Obama had one last move against Israel at the U.N. With literally only a few days’ notice, CUFI organized over 250 Christian leaders from across the country to come to Washington where they met with senators from 49 states (Vermont the exception) to express their alarm over the Obama administration’s betrayal of Israel and to promote the following agenda:

    • Use U.S. leverage to end Israel-bashing at the U.N.

    • Support moving the American embassy to Jerusalem.

    • Confirm David Friedman, President-elect Trump’s choice to be U.S. ambassador to Israel.

Here we are, a few months later, and Mr. Friedman is ambassador to Israel; U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has channeled her inner Daniel Patrick Moynihan and attacked anti-Israel bias at the world body with vigor; and for the first time ever, there is serious consideration being given to moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

While this is a promising beginning, our progress has not discouraged Israel's detractors. On the contrary, they are working overtime to change the minds of our new leadership. Israel's critics tried to stop the president from appointing David Friedman as the new Ambassador to Israel. And they're working hard to stop the administration from moving our embassy to Jerusalem.

We need to make sure that the voices of Israel's critics are not the only ones being heard in Washington. We need to make sure that the president and vice president continue to hear from the millions of Christians who want them to take a bold stand for Israel. We need to make sure the administration is hearing from us!

We have come this far together. Let us take these next critical steps together. Let us walk through doors that God has opened for us and take our stand for Israel like never before.

Blessings to you and those you love,

Pastor John Hagee
Chairman

The Israel Pledge

We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.
