The Israel Pledge

The Israel Pledge Banner

Christians United for Israel’s presence in Washington, D.C. July 21-24 will send a tangible message to our country, the media, and the people of Israel that thousands of Christians love Israel and will stand with her in difficult times.
We pray that you will be able to join us in Washington, D.C., but we understand that not everyone can make the trip.
Therefore, we want to provide you with an opportunity to make your voice heard. We have designed The Israel Pledge as a way for you, your family and friends to tangibly express your support of Israel from home.
Please join us by signing The Israel Pledge.  The more people who sign the pledge, the more powerful a statement we can make.   We will keep a running tally of how many people have signed, and we will share these numbers with the American and Israeli publics and with our leaders in Washington when we visit them in July.

If you have already signed The Israel Pledge we encourage to click here to send an email to your family and friends asking them to sign The Israel Pledge.

You can also download The Israel Pledge to enable your family, friends, and colleagues to sign. Click here to download The Israel Pledge. We ask that you print out The Israel Pledge, obtain signatures from your family, friends, members of your church, and anyone you know that loves Israel, and mail back The Israel Pledge to:

PO Box 1307
San Antonio, TX 78295

This is one case where numbers can speak even louder than words.

Psalm 133

Pastor Hagee's Teachings
How good and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
       running down on the beard,
       running down on Aaron's beard,
down upon the collar of his robes.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
       were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the LORD bestows his blessing,
       even life forevermore.
Psalm 133

We give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and for His faithfulness to His Word. Because of His blessing, the good integrity of many participants and the hard work of hundreds, the Third Annual Christians United for Israel Summit was a tremendous success.

We began the Summit with record registrations and ended the three day event with over four thousand attendees to our National Night to Honor Israel.

I want to personally thank all the CUFI Directors who sacrificed of their time and resources to attend this historic Summit.  Every plenary and breakout session was outstanding.  My special thanks to Senator Joseph Lieberman, Congressman Engel from New York, Dennis Prager and Randy Travis and all the Congressional leaders who attended the Night to Honor Israel Banquet. Their contribution to our Summit made it more outstanding than ever.

Senator Lieberman’s keynote speech was excellent.  This honorable man sited scripture that rang true in the hearts of both Christians and Jews. He came while under great pressure not to attend.  We thank him for his amazing contribution to the Summit.

Dennis Prager, who has spoken at our Cornerstone Church’s Night to Honor Israel, was once again in fantastic form. I will forever be indebted to Dennis for defending me and CUFI with vigor on his national radio show on several occasions.  Dennis is brilliant and if you want to hear great, solid Bible based morality presented on the radio; listen to his daily broadcast.

Randy Travis and his band gave a fantastic concert on Monday night at the Chairman’s Dinner. Randy sang two songs from his just released album, AROUND THE BEND.  We thank Randy and Elizabeth for their invaluable contribution of this event. If you want to support good, clean country music, get this album for your friends and family.

We were thrilled to receive over 250 students from more than 100 college campuses for our first “Joshua Generation-CUFI on Campus” outreach. Many of these students had never had the opportunity to visit with their Congressional representatives; it was truly a historical event for them and CUFI.

Rabbi Schienberg opened the Night to Honor Israel with a profound invocation and Father Roger Hunter-Hall benediction brought a beautiful ending to a great Night to Honor Israel. Rabbi’s visionary stand with Christians has made this organization possible.  I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

I want to thank all of our staff for their incredible contribution to making this event so successful. David Brog, Shari Dollinger, Randy Neal, Andrew Summey, John Summerville, Velvet Ridings and a score of volunteers working feverishly behind the scenes made the Summit appear flawless. I pray blessings on them and their loved ones.

We will soon begin preparations CUFI's Fourth Annual Washington-Israel Summit July 13 to 16, 2009.   We hope that you will make plans to join us.  Please click here for a Night to Honor Israel near you and support it with your presence.

Israel Washington DC Summit 2008Christians United for Israel’s Third Annual Washington-Israel Summit was the largest and most exciting CUFI Summit to date.

Christians from all fifty states and around the world gathered in Washington, D.C. for the sole purpose of supporting the State of Israel.  In these difficult economic times over 4,000 people made difficult sacrifices to come to Washington to bless Israel.

Christians United for Israel’s 2008 Washington-Israel Summit featured addresses from Pastor John Hagee, Dennis Prager, Congressman Elliot Engel (D-NY), William Kristol, Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN), Gary Bauer, Senator Rick Santorum , Daniel Pipes, Frank Gaffney, Clifford May, and many more experts on Israel and the Middle East.  Randy Travis performed a special concert and sang at the National Anthem at the Night to Honor Israel.

During CUFI’s Night to Honor Israel, the Washington, D.C. Convention Center was packed with attendees waving American and Israeli flags in support of CUFI, the United States and the State of Israel.  Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Dan Gillerman, Pastor John Hagee and Senator Joseph Lieberman were the keynote speakers.

Senator Lieberman opened his speech by saying "I am your brother Joseph."    He went on to say  “You have come to Washington as Americans of faith with a purpose. You are Christians, united for Israel. And may God bless you for, and in, your work.”

At a time when the threats to Israel are increasing, we traveled to Washington to remind our nation and that world that Israel does not and will not stand alone.  The message was issued loudly and clearly.  We know it will make a difference.

We'll be going back to Washington next year for our Fourth Annual Washington Israel Summit July 13 to 16, 2009.   We hope you'll join us then.

Christians United for Israel would like to express our appreciation to Zion Oil & Gas, Inc. for sponsoring the Night to Honor Israel Banquet at the Third Annual CUFI Washington-Israel Summit.

Zion Oil & Gas was formed in 2000 by John Brown, a man of deep Christian faith. The company, which is listed on the American Stock Exchange, explores for oil and gas on two onshore exploration licenses covering approximately 162,000 acres between Tel Aviv and Haifa.

From day one, the calling of Zion Oil & Gas was to assist in the restoration of the Land by finding oil and gas, helping to make Israel politically and economically independent.

In the beginning, Zion operated on faith alone, but today it is also based on hard science. Zion's geologists have put together a country-wide seismic database consisting of 219 seismic sections totaling 2,000 miles, so as to better understand the geology of the license areas.

The Zion team is developing four leads and one prospect in the license areas and, based on these studies, they believe that there are prospective hydrocarbonbearing intervals at depths between 12,500 and 18,000 feet and that there may be approximately 20,000 productive acres. ISRAEL AND MIDDLE EAST NEWS   Headlines from the Middle East

Iran Claims It Has 6,000 Centrifuges for Uranium Enrichment -
Iranian President Ahmadinejad said Saturday his country now possesses 6,000 centrifuges, double the 3,000 uranium-enriching machines Iran had previously said it was operating. "Announcements like this, whatever the true number is, are not productive and will only serve to further isolate Iran from the international community," said White House spokesman Carlton Carroll. Iran says it plans to move toward large-scale uranium enrichment that will ultimately involve 54,000 centrifuges that could churn out enough enriched material for dozens of nuclear weapons. Olmert says peace accord with Palestinians unlikely in 2008
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Monday he did not believe Israel and the Palestinian Authority would be able to achieve their stated goal of forging a peace deal by the end of the year.   Referring to recent attacks in the capital perpetrated by east Jerusalem residents, Olmert told the FADC that there was no way of preventing such incidents as long as the approximately 270,000 Arab residents - about one-third of the city's population of 750,000 - retain the freedom of movement they have at present.  (The Jerusalem Post, July 28, 2008)  To read the entire article click here.

Hamas Rearming During Cease-Fire
Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) Director Yuval Diskin told the Cabinet on Sunday, "Since the cease-fire began, four tons of explosives have been transferred into Gaza for Hamas, as well as 50 anti-tank missiles, light arms, and materials for Kassam rocket manufacture - metal rods and gunpowder." "Most of the smuggling is taking place by land, through tunnels. Hamas has taken control of the tunnels in the area." He said the recent prisoner exchange deal with Hizbullah has encouraged terror groups to plan additional kidnappings of Israeli soldiers.  (Attila Somfalvi, Ynet News, July 27, 2008) To read the entire article click here.

The Israel Pledge

We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.
