Psalm 28:7

October 25, 2011

The LORD is my strength and my shield;
         My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
         Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
         And with my song I will praise Him.  Psalm 28:7

The members of Christians United for Israel rejoice with the Shalit family as they welcome their son, Gilad, home after more than five years of captivity under the terrorist arm of Hamas. The Psalms sets forth the enduring pattern of turning to the Lord during our time of trouble.  The Lord is our rock, our fortress and our deliverer. We give thanks to the Lord for He is good and His mercies endure forever.

We continue to pray for the safety of all Israelis who live under the looming shadow of terror. May Zion be delivered from those who wish to harm her and may the Almighty’s right hand continually shelter her inhabitants.

I want to personally thank the hundreds of thousands that have joined us in praying for Gilad’s safe return and I ask that you continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
