He who blesses Israel will be blessed…..
For the past week, I have been watching the scenes of disaster unfolding in Haiti with great distress. I’m sure you’ve done likewise. Even if our eyes typically gaze east towards Israel, we find that they are currently focused south. The suffering of the Haitian people is too close, and too great, to ignore. But even as we focus on Haiti, we still see Israel. We have watched with great pride as Israeli search teams were among the first on the scene to find and rescue Haitians buried in the rubble. We cheered as the Israelis set up the first fully operational field hospital to treat the wounded. And our hearts filled with joy as an Israeli team delivered a healthy baby boy in the midst of the death and destruction. When the mother decided to name the boy “Israel” in honor of those who saved him, we shared her gratitude. As you know, CUFI’s mission is focused here at home. Our purpose is to educate Christians about the Biblical mandate to support Israel and to build a national grassroots organization dedicated to standing with the Jewish State. Yet while we do not typically raise funds for humanitarian projects abroad, the emergency in Haiti demands that we make an exception. We are asking that you make a contribution of $18 or a multiple thereof to support Israel’s humanitarian efforts in Haiti. This special amount -- which symbolizes “life” in Jewish tradition – will be sent directly to IsraAID, one of the Israeli organizations that has been at the forefront of these rescue efforts. IsraAID is sending a new medical team from Israel to Haiti this weekend to join it's rescue and medical teams already on the ground. Please click here to help Israel help Haiti today.
We in CUFI always cite the first clause of Genesis 12:3, which states that he who blesses Israel will be blessed. But we know that in the following lines, God also promises Abraham that through Israel all the nations of the world will be blessed. The Israelis are proving the truth of God’s word. Let us help them as they do so. In so doing, I believe you and your loved ones will reap the blessings of that very scripture. May God Bless You and those that You Love, Pastor John Hagee |
