Statement of Purpose
The purpose of Christians United For Israel (CUFI) is to provide a national association through which every pro-Israel church, parachurch organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel in matters related to Biblical issues.

  History
Israel is in peril.  The President of Iran has threatened to wipe Israel off the map and he’s rapidly acquiring the nuclear technology with which to make good on this threat.  In the meantime, Iran’s proxies in Hezbollah and Hamas are arming themselves at an alarming rate, and Hamas has been firing missiles into Southern Israel. 

Millions of Christians across America have a deep love for Israel and the Jewish people and want to stand with them during these difficult days. Yet, until recently, pro-Israel Christians were divided and often silent.  They limited their support of Israel to prayers and charitable donations. 

In February, 2006, over 400 Christian leaders from across the country flew to San Antonio, Texas to join Pastor John Hagee in determining how the Christian world should respond to the ongoing threats to Israel.  By the end of the day, the group had decided to launch a national grassroots movement focused on support of Israel and the Jewish people.  Christians United for Israel was born. 

Since that date, Christians United for Israel has grown to become the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the country.  CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with our message.   Every year we hold over 200 pro-Israel events in cities around the country.  And each July, over 4,000 pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.   Our impact has been immediate.  Our growth has been phenomenal.  And we've only just begun. 

  Goals and Objectives

Goal One: To Educate & Build Christian Support For Israel Throughout America
While millions of Evangelical Christians support Israel , there are millions more who do not. It is crucial to educate Christians on the Biblical and moral imperatives of supporting Israel. 

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." - Genesis 12:3

CUFI’s education efforts include:

• Objective 1.1: CUFI’s weekly email update informs hundreds of thousands of Christians about the current situation in Israel and the Middle East.
• Objective 1.2: CUFI’s magazine, The Torch,  provides articles and analysis on Israel and the Middle East from scholars, policy experts, and renowned religious leaders.
   
• Objective 1.3: CUFI’s Nights to Honor Israel in communities throughout the country are life changing events that open Christians’ eyes to need to support Israel and the Jewish people.
• Objective 1.4: CUFI’s bi-annual Summit in Jerusalem  brings thousands of Christians worldwide to Israel to demonstrate solidarity.
• Objective 1.5: CUFI’s website provides cutting-edge educational resources about Israel.
  
• Objective 1.6: CUFI’s quarterly teleconferences with Israeli and U.S. elected officials and opinion leaders enable CUFI members to learn first-hand about the issues facing Israel.
   
• Objective 1.7: CUFI ON CAMPUS chapters equip tomorrow’s leaders to become effective advocates for Israel, and to counter the rising anti-Israel on campuses.
• Objective 1.8: Christians United for Israel Sunday is one day when Christians around the
  world unite in prayer and action on behalf of Israel.
• Objective 1.9: Standing with Israel meetings are opportunities to help Christians to better understand how and why we should support Israel. 

Goal Two: To Communicate Pro-Israel Perspectives to Our Elected Officials  
While it is important that we pray for Israel , it is also important that we put feet to our prayers and speak truth to power about the need to stand with Israel at this critical juncture in history. 

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.” - Isaiah 62:1

CUFI’s public policy efforts include:

• Objective 2:1: CUFI’s annual Washington Summit  enables CUFI members to personally speak with their elected officials on behalf of Israel.
• Objective 2:2: CUFI’s Rapid Response Alerts mobilize CUFI members at critical junctures throughout the year to generate millions of phone calls and emails requesting support for Israel from the Administration and Congress.
