SAN ANTONIO – On Friday, the leadership of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, expressed support for President Donald Trump’s new policy approach to Iran.
“President Trump’s comments today show that he has a clear-eyed view of the Iranian regime and the JCPOA. I commend the president for laying out distinct goals and an unambiguous path forward for America’s Iran policy. Despite the promises of the last Administration, Iran has not joined the community of nations, but rather, the regime remains a terrorist-backing pariah state. I am confident that if Congress follows the president’s lead and takes a strong stand against Tehran’s belligerence, the world will become a safer place for all,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.
“Today, President Trump officially abandoned our dangerous Iran policy and set a smart new course. He called out the Iranian regime for its support of terror, its regional aggression and its missile development. He also clearly explained the deep and dangerous flaws in the Iran deal and pledged to fix them through Congressional legislation or abrogation. We congratulate our president on his clarity and his courage, and we will be watching Congress closely in the days to come,” noted CUFI founding executive director David Brog.
With more than 3.5 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
