January 4, 2019 WASHINGTON DC – On Friday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, welcomed introduction in the Senate of the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act (S. 1).
“At this pivotal time, we welcome Sen. McConnell’s decision to take decisive action in an effort to strengthen America’s position in the Middle East. CUFI will bring the full weight of our five million members to support this bill should it face any resistance, though, with the exception of a few on the extreme ends of the political spectrum, we expect this legislation will receive widespread support in the Senate,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.
“This package of legislation will make America and Israel stronger and safer. It includes core elements of our policy agenda, in particular the US-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act, which enjoys bipartisan support and was blocked by just one Senator during the lame duck session last year. We are glad Sen. McConnell has seen fit to ensure this cornerstone of the US-Israel alliance will receive a vote on the Senate floor as a part of this legislation,” noted CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.
With more than 5 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
The CUFI Action Fund, a non-profit 501 (c) (4), nonpartisan organization, serves as the public policy arm of the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, Christians United for Israel. The Action Fund is dedicated to ensuring the millions of Christian Zionists across the country have their voices heard in our nation’s capital each and every day.
